SMS Terms of Service

By opting in to the Compassion Pediatrics text messaging program, you agree to these Terms of Service.

1.Program Description

The Compassion Pediatrics SMS program sends appointment reminders, confirmations, rescheduling notifications, and healthcare-related alerts (such as vaccine reminders, well-visit recalls, and office closures) to patients and their parents or guardians who have opted in.

2.How to Opt In

You may opt in by:

• Completing our patient intake form (paper)
• Providing verbal consent to a Compassion Pediatrics staff member, who will document your consent
• Texting a keyword to our number where offered

3.Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your appointment schedule and healthcare needs. Patients typically receive 2–6 messages per month.

4.Cost

Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details. Compassion Pediatrics does not charge a fee for the SMS program itself.

5.How to Opt Out

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. After replying STOP, you will receive one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed. To rejoin, opt in again using any of the methods above.

7.Supported Carriers

The program is available on major U.S. carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Boost, Cricket, MetroPCS, U.S. Cellular, Virgin Mobile, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

8.Delivery Disclaimer

We do not guarantee that messages will be delivered or received on time.

9.Protected Health Information

Messages may contain limited PHI (e.g., appointment date, time, provider name). Standard SMS is not encrypted. By opting in, you accept this risk. Reply STOP at any time to discontinue.

10.Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or be the parent or legal guardian of the patient, to opt in. You must be the account holder of the mobile number provided, or have permission from the account holder.

11.Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted at this URL with a new "Last Updated" date. Continued participation after changes constitutes acceptance.
